It may become a preferred route for freight haulers who might now be coming through Salem. It may lessen the need for any new bridge between Salem and Wilsonville.Jim Scheppkehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04077003905171156283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5666195730630249633.post-66670241563385152502016-01-04T10:38:13.335-08:002016-01-04T10:38:13.335-08:00Please keep comments on policy, not people! Please keep comments on policy, not people!Salem Breakfast on Bikeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15618055627843335993noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5666195730630249633.post-50710237266479938472016-01-04T09:08:05.036-08:002016-01-04T09:08:05.036-08:00I have often wondered why they just don't put ...I have often wondered why they just don't put a bridge in at Wheatland Ferry. This could connect I-5 to 99W. Of course if it is not about getting traffic around Salem and just to Keizer Station, then I guess this Pine Street route might be prefered.

I do recall some of the chatter about a 3rd bridge back in the 1960s. I think there was also a suggestion to extend out Kuebler too, but I guess it is pretty environmentally sensitive. The idea was that people could use the existing bridge at Independence.

This is clearly something that has gone on for decades and is probably not going to be resolved for many more. Truth is that the best crossings have already been identified.Susann Kaltwassernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5666195730630249633.post-86151157778411286202016-01-03T12:08:22.720-08:002016-01-03T12:08:22.720-08:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Walkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12731260619465817652noreply@blogger.com
