School Board to Discuss Safe Routes to School Planning
Tonight, before the regular School Board meeting at 6pm, at 5:30pm the School Board will hold a work session to discuss the Safe Routes to School Grant and Plan.
Last summer the City of Salem won a TGM grant to write a district-wide Safe Routes to School Plan. The School District has not determined how they want to participate in the project, and at the work session the board will moot this. Salem City Councilor Dan Clem and community SR2S advocate Kate Tarter will speak to the board.
If you are interested in supporting safer and better ways to encourage kids to walk and bike to school, please consider attending the meeting and work session.
