For a couple of years now the Vision 2020 group has been trying to figure out how to make a Sunday Parkways event happen in Salem. The chief obstacle has been acquiring a lead sponsor. 
Now comes news that the City of Wilsonville and SMART scored a $53,414 grant from METRO to help with the inaugural Wilsonville Sunday Parkways.The Portland area has greater financial resources of course, but still it's disappointing the Capital City is stuck following rather than leading. Hopefully 2011 will bring renewed energy and resources.
