The paper today has a story about a mystery very near the SJ offices, just two short blocks away.
In the paper today |
Where did the food carts and farm stands go, they ask.
But isn't the real question about a parking lot that is likely overbuilt?
Perhaps even without leaving the office, just by looking from the window across the dysfunction junction of Commercial/Vista/Liberty, the paper could easily perform a parking audit over a few days and verify or dispute that the claim "the food trucks and stands were taking up too many parking spots," as apparently corporate HQ seemed to think.
The real mystery here isn't the location of food carts. It is our parking mania!
The paper should leverage this into a story about how we tend to oversupply parking and then the costs of that empty space in slack land use and heat islands.
