Design of Second Phase for Pringle Square Apartments at Planning Commission

Construction at Boise - via CB|Two
You've probably been watching the layers go up on the Boise shell this fall and now winter.

The next step
At the Planning Commission next month is a new phase!

South Block, Phase 2 in lighter cream color
The developer and designer have submitted plans for a "class three design review" on phase two of the South Block apartment complex.

South side of the Boise Shell - debris shaped into ramps
from a year ago - it will become prettier!
On the South side of the box it would add 70 new apartments to the 115 already in progress.

Hopefully the expansion and progress is an optimistic comment on the local economy and all that!

About the design, I'm not sure there's anything new to say - it looks like a straight-forward extension of plans already approved and being constructed.

One tiny detail did seem to deserve notice, however.

I think the bike parking has been altered.

You might recall the first iteration. In a very small revision, it looks like the parking has been shifted to a different room. I think the number of bike parking spots is unchanged and I have a hard time envisioning that the different location offers either more or less convenience and security. I think it's a neutral change.

The Staff Report will come out in January and there might be more to say then.

The Planning Commission meets Tuesday, January 13th, at 5:30pm in Council Chambers.
